What’s In and What’s Out this Spring: 🪷
This Spring, let’s start fresh.
Let’s clean out limiting mindsets about wellness and re-commit to our health and wellness.
Here’s my version of “What’s in + What’s Out” This Spring:
In: Movement. The repeatable (seemingly never ending) tasks of your everyday life are opportunities to appreciate your health and mobility. Did you make your bed? Fold clean clothes? Clean your car out? That all counts as movement.
Out: Exercise. Measuring your health by minutes of dedicated “exercise” is a limiting mindset that often leads to setting (and not meeting) unattainable goals.
In: Mindful Rest. Taking care of yourself through dedicated rest, breathwork and moments of mindfulness feels MUCH better than chronic exhaustion, and honestly, is much more interesting and fulfilling than talking about how busy you are all the time.
Out: Exhaustion. It’s no longer a status symbol. True luxury is being able to make conscious choices to take care of your body, your mind, your well-being.
In: Personalized Practices. Individualized experiences that deliberately target YOUR unique body, movement patterns and lifestyle set you up for success, health and mobility as you age.
Out: One-size-fits-all yoga classes. No one over the age of 23 NEEDS to do a handstand to live a healthy, happy, pain-free lifestyle.
In: Seasons. Your body naturally aligns with the energy of the earth’s seasons: it’s ok to oscillate between feeling VERY motivated and “not-so-motivated” when it comes to wellness.
Out: Guilt. Despite what you’ve heard, there’s no wagon to fall off. When it comes to wellness, each positive intention, each positive choice, collects like coins in a jar. Don’t waste your energy feeling guilty about prioritizing other things over your wellness for a few days/ weeks/ months – it happens. You’ve still got your coin jar; just start adding again!
